Three-Phase Power Calculator

Calculate 3-phase real power, apparent power, current, and power factor for balanced loads.

Choose what to calculate. "Find Power" computes power from voltage and current. "Find Current" computes current from power and voltage.
Voltage measured between any two phases. Common: 208V, 240V, 480V, 600V. Line-to-neutral = Line-to-line / sqrt(3).
V
Current flowing through each phase conductor. For balanced loads all three phases carry equal current. Measure with a clamp meter.
A
Ratio of real to apparent power (0 to 1.0). Resistive loads: 1.0. Motors: 0.80-0.90. 0.85 is a common default for mixed industrial loads.

References:
P = sqrt(3) x V_LL x I_L x PF. S = sqrt(3) x V_LL x I_L. Q = sqrt(S² - P²). V_LN = V_LL / sqrt(3). Assumes balanced 3-phase load. Per IEEE Std 141 (Red Book) and NEC Article 220.
